UVCE will be celebrating centenary year in 2016 – 17. The World Bank has sanctioned Rs. 13.5 Crores and Rs. 12.5 Crores under TEQIP‐I and TEQIP‐II respectively, to UVCE towards improving the standards of Technical Education. These funds are used to enhance the quality of education among the Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Ph.D. Students in the college.

Pre‐placement activities such as technical training, soft skills and personality development are being conducted for the students to meet the expectations of the industries.

More than 100 workshops, symposium, seminars, conferences, expert lectures are planned within the next one year for the faculty and students of our Institution to enrich and enhance teaching and learning capabilities. Faculty members and research students have visited USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Belgium, South Africa, China, Japan, Egypt, Abudabi, Australia, Thailand, Dubai, Indonesia and Spain in last six months to present research papers.

Nearly 64% of teachers have Ph.Ds. and another 22 will be awarded Ph.D. by 2014. Hundred and seventy one teachers of other institutions have registered for Ph.D. and 54 teachers have been awarded Ph.D. in the last 5 years.

PG Courses in Data Mining, Nano Technology, Space Technology, VLSI and Signal Processing are planned. The college will be switching over to CGPA Grading Systems shortly. Eighty PG students had been awarded TEQIP Teaching Assistant scholarship and another 100 will be benefited from September / October 2013. Seventeen full time Ph.D. Research Scholars are awarded TEQIP research scholarship since March 2013. More than Rs. 6 Crores of scholarships from various sources is being distributed for UG, PG and Ph.D. students in an academic year.

The state of the art smart rooms, video conferencing and WiFi connection are planned. The college has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with 4 corporate companies and has received Expression of Interest from more than 30 companies.


An important milestone achieved by the college is the establishment of a 100 Mbps internet connection expandable to 1Gbps provided by the National Knowledge Commission, National Informatics Centre and maintained by Power Grid Corporation of India.

Dr. Venugopal K. R. has been in Bangalore University for the last four decades. He has Eleven Degrees with Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from IIT‐Madras, Chennai and another Ph.D. in Economics from Bangalore University. He has authored and edited 39 books and published more than 400 papers in refereed International Journals and International Conferences. He has supervised 532 M.E. dissertations and 12 Ph.Ds.
